Vole Damage This Winter

September 26th, 2014 by Tuff Turf Molebusters

Vole damage usually peaks in the winter months, as voles can run around under the snow unchecked by their natural predators. The most common damage we see is holes in the turf, peeled bark around shrubs/young trees and tracks all throughout the yard.  Below is a few examples:

Duck-killing mole

August 23rd, 2013 by Tuff Turf Molebusters

One of our driver’s was driving down a rural road and a group of ducks started to fly away. One poor duck misjudged the height of the mole on our truck and kissed it at 55 mph. First time we know of that a mole killed a duck. What do you think was going through that duck’s mind before impact?

Wood Chuck

July 30th, 2013 by Tuff Turf Molebusters

Thanks to Cornell University we now know that a Wood Chuck would chuck 700 pounds of wood if a Wood Chuck could chuck wood. We can all sleep better now.

That’s a lot of traps

June 13th, 2013 by Tuff Turf Molebusters

We just paid the last bill for the traps we bought this spring. We added another 1,728 choker traps and 680 scissor traps. With over 5000 traps it was hard to believe there were times when we didn’t have any animal control traps in shop and all of the vehicles were almost empty.
